Fekete Pince "Aranyhegy-dulo" Harslevelu Somloi 2013

Hungary’s smallest wine region, Somlói, was single-handedly kept going by Béla Fekete, who’s now 93 years old – this 2013 is his last ever vintage. Some of the grapes have botrytis; they receive skin contact; and the wine is aged for 4 years. The result is an extraordinary wine that somehow feels like both a dry and a sweet wine at once (RS is 1.3g/L), with rich aromas of dried apricots, nuts, beeswax, and dried flowers, with a chewy texture and a saline quality. Uniquely fantastic.
