Farella Merlot "Estate" Coombsville, Napa Valley 2013

Outstanding vineyard and winery 4 miles east of Downtown Napa, Coombville District, where the wines remind us of very good Bordeaux. We think you'll agree with the Farella Merlot. Get dried wild blueberries, cedar, thyme, black tea, cassis, black figs, cocoa and a pleasing amaro-like bitter note on the 45 second finish. Bordeaux-like healthy acidity and fine tannins. Great red meat wine. Will just get better with time. 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermented and aged in French barriques for 22 months, 8% new. 315 cases made.
