Failla Chardonnay "Chuy" Sonoma Valley 2014

Head-pruned, Old Wente Clone vines in the eastern hills of Sonoma Valley (the other side of Mt Veeder). The wine's earthy/mineral character shines through in this robust, textural, savory, "Burgundian" style Chardonnay. Get lemon zest, chalk, dried pears, roast filberts. The thick skins, whole cluster pressed, make for a "chewy" (no pun intended) Chardonnay that will age and blossom over time.
