Erich Sattler Sankt Laurent Burgenland Austria 2018

St. Laurent is the third most planted grape in Austria, showing familial characteristics from Pinot Noir, but also showing regional characteristics of its cool climate homeland.  Sattler may be one of the most consistent producers of the grape with his entry level brimming with silky plum, bright Morello cherry, black currant, savory earth and touches of licorice.  Tell-tale signs of green vegetables are there, but the freshness of fruit seems to keep the qualities measurable.
