Maranges, at the southern end of the Cote d'Or, is a place to look for solid Red Burgs with classic character, great flavor and very good prices. This, indeed, is classic, well made Red Burg, and with a little bottle age, too. Wild red cherries, spiced cranberry, oiled leather, dusty earth, black tea. All the good stuff. Boasts bold acidity and a solid inner core of fruit.
