Dutton Estate “Kyndall’s Reserve” Chardonnay Russian River 2020

Dutton Estate is legendary for farming over 80 vineyards in the Russian River Valley, selling off the majority of their grapes, but pulling certain sources for a few wines of their own. Kyndall’s Reserve is sourced from four different vineyards with established pedigree, it then goes through an extensive vinification of equal parts concrete egg, stainless steel and French oak. The oak manages to have a heavy influence, imparting baking spices, pears, roasted apples, and vanilla. Stone fruits show a tropical side with a surprising kick of acidity.
