Domaine Sylvain Bailly Rose Sancerre 2017

From a plot in eastern Sancerre that’s so good that merchants used to hide their bottles from customers. Producer goes back to the 1700s, so all in all this a pretty serious rosé. On the nose smell crunchy red fruit aromas of redcurrant, cranberry, and strawberry, with herbal and spice aromas of pot pourri, sage, cinnamon, and white pepper, as well as floral aromas of hyacinth and roses. Fresh on the palate with lightly grainy tannins. Drink with summer salads.
