"Hengst" is an organic, steep, southeast-facing Grand Cru vineyard made of shale and limestone. Absolutely delicious Riesling from Alsace. Smell and taste honeyed Macintosh apples, quince paste, sweet citrus, rocky soil, citrus blossoms. Excellent viscosity, "minerality," and 45 second finish. 1.5 on the 1-10 sweetness scale. Excellent food wine - roast fish and white meats particularly.
