Domaine Philippe Tessier Cheverny Rouge 2019

The Cheverny Rouge is masterful blend of Gamay, Pinot Noir, and Côt with the Gamay undergoing carbonic maceration for 15 days and all grapes seeing native ferments, and minimal sulfites.  This is a wine that can carry a conversation at a party with seemingly eeeveeryybody.  Dark fruits, licorice, and herbs with an almost Charbono-like quality, yet juicy, fresh lip-smacking fruit is turned up a notch by Mexican chocolate and astute tannins.
