Domaine Marcoux La Lorentine Lirac 2017

Another stunning Eric Solomon selection that combines the traditional grapes Grenache (50%), Syrah (25%), and Mourvèdre (25%) from the little known region of Lirac.  Lirac is located just west of Châteauneuf-du-Pape with wines that seem to be more gravel driven and less ripe. Dark and dense with purple fruits, earth, baking spice, sandalwood, plum skins, black currant, mûre, pencil shavings, and dusty acidity. Light yet powerful.
