Domaine la Grangette Cocoriko Picpoul Noir Cote de Thau 2018

Picpoul noir has only about 200 ha remaining in all of France, even as it remains one of the 13 grapes permitted in Châteauneuf du Pape.  The light bodied wine sees 15 days of maceration and stainless steel aging for 4-5 months.  Fresh, lithe, and lively with white pepper, cherry, roses, underbrush, and acidity and tannins that seem to be the perfect wallflowers in the mix of things.  The delicate fruit shows an almost tertiary side with sandy soil aromas and herbs.
