Domaine Jeannot Maranges 1er Cru “La Fussiere” 2019

 “La Fussière” is the largest climat of Maranges, with these grapes coming from 55-year-old-vines on calcareous clay soils.  Aged for only 12 months on fine lees in 228L barrels, the result is a great example of a delicate, youthful, and accessible Burgundy. 100% de-stemmed, roses, violets, cranberry, red plums, chocolate covered figs and a streak of meaty savoriness.  Light weight with limited tartness, but a sneaky acid that seems to hang around longer than expected.
