Domaine Eden Pinot Noir Santa Cruz Mountains 2017

The second label from Mount Eden that is also much more approachable in its youth. It’s is a blend of multiple vineyards that Jeffrey Patterson has masterfully woven together. The fruit in the Santa Cruz Mountains does not get as ripe as the Sonoma Coast, so the wines are a bit more savory. Pine forest, blueberry, mushroom, and wet leaves are the main profile on the palate. Tar, crushed stones, and dried herbs with some red fruits give the wine a profile that is more often found in Burgundy.
