Domaine des Vieux Pruniers Sancerre 2017

This is classic and very classy Sancerre. Christian Thirot-Fournier farms just 7ha of Sauvignon Blanc on an incredibly steep amphitheater (up to 60˚) in the nearby village of Bué known for its limestone-rich soils. Several months of lees ageing lead to a fresh, grassy, herbaceous, slightly vegetal nose with aromas of green apples, lemon zest, elderflower, gunflint, and smoke, followed a fine, mineral-edged palate with refreshingly high acidity. Everything you want from Sancerre.
