Fred Niger has revolutionized Muscadet. Farming biodynamically, he makes terroir-driven wines from grapes grown on different soil types. Orthogneiss is a rocky soil rich in minerals, and the wines are unusually rich for Muscadet. It’s also aged on its lees for up to 18 months, adding spicy, nutty, and creamy aromas on top of the grape’s natural green apple fruits followed by a long finish. Drink with oysters.
