Domaine Boudinaud Mataro Cotes du Rhone 2013

Typically the 3rd grape of the Southern Rhone Trinity, Mataro (aka Mourvedre) stands on its own in this perfectly gamy, dark berry, earthy/spicy, medium/full bodied red. Smell and taste smashed blueberries, smoked meat, tobacco, five spice and black olives. Medium tannins & acidity. Good match with slow roast pork shoulder and most anything with olives & mushrooms.
