Domaine Auchere Sancerre Rouge 2016

Sancerre is of cours e best known for its white wine, but it produces a small amount of red – always from Pinot Noir. It’s always fun if rare to find red Sancerre, a different French take on Pinot. A very appealing nose of strawberry, raspberry, and red cherry, roses, and a touch of smoke leads into a fresh, crunchy palate with a light tannic grip and some peppery spiciness. Very drinkable.
