Diamantakos Preknadi 2013

The varietal: Preknadi (Greek for "freckle face": the grapes are spotted) was grown throughout Naoussa until phylloxera hit Greece in the 1960's. Only recently has it been revived. Reminiscent of Viognier in its perfume and viscosity, but this wine is lighter and more acidic. Taste lemon zest, fresh peach, lemon custard, with a hint of juniper and quinine on the finish. Refreshing, and refreshingly different!
