Darling Pinot Noir Azaya Vineyard Petaluma Gap 2019
This tiny production from the Petaluma Gap is a breath of fresh air from the typical Sonoma Coast Pinot Noirs. Tom and Ashley Darling have made a wine which they describe as having, “old world style/new world fruit”. The hands-off approach to making wine from organic fruit shows Burgundian aromas of cranberry/raspberry, damp forest and woodsy notes, yet the texture in the mouth is silky smooth with well integrated, nuanced tannins. Low alcohol and low SO2.
