Colli di Lapio Fiano di Avellino 2017

Fiano is an historic grape native to Campania. It’s warm there, but in the hillside town of Avellino elevation of 600m cools conditions down, especially at night. An impressively structured wine, this is Fiano at its best: herbal, spicy, and lightly fruity, up to 6 months lees ageing gives the wine a rich, creamy, nutty, biscuity mouthfeel, balanced by refreshingly high acidity and a dry mineral texture. Calls for annoglia, a regional sausage made from pork skin and fat.
