Clos Figueras Font de la Figuera Priorat 2019

The vineyard was purchased at the recommendation of René Barbier of Clos Mogador and it is maintained and vinified by his team each year. Shy fruit is replaced by earthy aromas of old gnarled vines baking in the sun. 50% Garnacha, 30% Carignan, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah provide toasted aromas with dried herbs, red cherries, plum skins, licorice and desert underbrush. The aromas and weight come across more Syrah like than a juicy Garnacha.
