Churchill Estates “Grafite” Touriga Nacional Douro Tinto 2015

Made from 100% Touriga Nacional, the wine exudes terroir. It’s as if somebody ripped out the granite terraces of the Douro, crushed them, drained the moisture and bottled it up. Is it the mono varietal or the 2015 vintage, not sure, but it is really tasty? Wet rocks, herbs, mossy river stones, pencil shavings, savory cigar, anise and pine forest are surprisingly soft-textured with a rounded-out palate feel and firm but forgiving tannins.
