Checkerboard Vineyards King’s Row Red Blend Napa 2018

Taken from the lower blocks of the Aurora Vineyard, where steep slopes and western exposures lead to ripe, concentrated fruit which is fermented in steel before ageing in new French oak.This may be the most opulent and approachable vintage to date. The fruit is powerful, but not overly ripe, never obstructing the earthy aromas that almost come across as tertiary. The wine quite simply exudes elegance from first sniff.
