Bucklin Old Hill Ancient Vine Field Blend Sonoma Valley 2020
This field blend comes from a single vineyard that was planted in 1885 to mostly Zinfandel (65%) and 30 different secondary grapes. The Old Hill Vineyard has lasted so long because it continues to produce stellar fruit. The vines produce concentrated wine with a lean towards earth. The fruit never gets too jammy, instead showing flashes of oak, fennel, raw cocoa nibs and Moroccan spice. 18 months of oak aging tempers the tannins very nicely.
