Botromagno Primitivo Puglia 2019
If Zinfandel in California tasted more like this the grape would not have such polarizing of a reputation. It still carries the alcohol, but the ripe fruit and dry soils coaxes out red sandstone qualities with sleek brambly fruits, blueberries, and a lilac note. Black cherries, baking spices, tobacco and mint on the finish along with high-elevation (660 meters) acidity. All of the Zinfandel qualities, but in an old-world style.
