Bodegas Godelia Mencia Bierzo 2016

The winery explains, “…the landscape of Bierzo in a bottle”, with the grapes coming from 40-80-year-old vineyards. The main focus is dark fruits, restrained fruits of plums, while showing autumnal leaves and leather.  Twelve months of French oak aging imports bitter chocolate and a lightly grainy texture. The brightness of red fruits is polished, but it has faded to tertiary aromas from bottle aging, while the acidity is still full of energy.
