Bodegas Biniagual Sant Gall 2010

We’re definitely in “mustache wine” territory here. The grape is 83% Manto Negro, a black grape indigenous to Mallorca where there are just 320ha of plantings. With Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah in the mix, there’s a barnyard nose and then it’s dark, earthy, inky, full of red and black fruit aromas, sweet spices, licorice, cocoa, and dried fruits. An aside: Sant Gall is patron saint of the beautiful Mallorcan hamlet the winery’s named after.
