Blacksmith Cabernet Sauvignon "C.L.R.T." Oakville, Napa Valley 2014

Alameda (east Bay area) winery sources grapes from Oakville, Napa's "tenderloin" for Cabernet. This wine captures that Oakville Cab flavor for 1/4th the price (give or take). Deep black cherry, blackberry, vanilla, cinnamon and cocoa smells and flavors. Gentle tannins, low acidity. Strong, straightforward, drink-me-tonight style. The C.L.R.T. is short for Claret. Merlot Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot is in the blend.
