Liguria in north-west Italy produces some of the country’s finest Vermentino, the sea air helping moderate the growing conditions and maintain acidity. This comes from near the beautiful seaside town of Portofino: it’s fresh and saline, with gentle aromas of roasted almonds, peach, and nectarines and crisp acidity on the palate. A ripe, tangy, textured wine with a subtle, lasting mineral finish.
