Baker Lane Syrah Sonoma Coast 2015

Biodynamically-farmed estate Syrah – with 1% Viognier! – from Sonoma Coast, aged in 15% new 400 liter puncheons. This is a classic Syrah – a grape that’s been overlooked in California – but this is a perfect example of how it shines in coastal Sonoma. There’s a definite pepper quality to the wine, as well as meaty, bacon aromas on top of the ripe black fruits, followed by a firm tannic structure and fresh acidity. A lively introduction to Californian Syrah.
