Ayunta Nerrelo Mascalese Rosso 2018
Made from the native Sicilian grape Nerello Mascalese with a gentle press and short carbonic maceration before fermentation in cement vats and bottle aging. Delicately colored but substantial in flavor with rhubarb, strawberry, Marasca cherry and smoky minerality. The subtle carbonic flavors play a perfect compliment to the vibrant acidity and medium tannins. This “pista e’mmutta” style (Meaning: press it and put in the barrel straight away). yielded only 500 cases.
