Avante Ribera del Duero 2011

Owned & made by Spanish wine importer Jorge Ordonez. All Tempranillo from 50 year old vines growing in clay (gives richness) and chalk (gives "tension"). Aged in part American/part French oak, 2 years. Thick frame of oak wraps around dark raspberry & strawberry flavors with black pepper, mint and mocha flavors peaking through. Top-notch representation of Ribera del Duero.
