Aster by Rioja Alta Tinta del Pais Ribera del Duero 2019

Made from 100% Tinta de País, the regions native name for Tempranillo, grown on silt loam soils located at an altitude of 780 meters above sea level. The 22 months of French oak aging, 70% new, is just enough to add layers of depth while keeping the fruit fresh.  Lightly meaty and a touch chewy, with dark spices, leather, plums and figs.  Spain delivers major value again from one of the most consistent producers!
