Ashes and Diamonds Caberent Franc No. 2 Napa Valley 2015

Made by winemaker Steve Matthiasson, the wine exhibits a kind of quiet quality.  Elegant and concise, with bright fruit aromas of plums and bitter blackberries, while showing delicate flashes of violets and herbs.  Smell dried autumn leaves, bay trees, and light coffee from 20 months in oak. The finish is really where the seduction begins; perfect balance of tannins and acidity showing enjoyment now, but makes one wonder if the wine can't develop another 20 years.
