Artadi "Pasos de San Martin" Garnacha Navarra 2013

Navarra is right next to Rioja and it provides an interesting alternative. This comes from the San Martín village, where the weather is only just warm enough to ripen Garnacha – harvest was 20 October. The nose has engaging red fruit aromas of raspberry, strawberry, and red cherry leading into a fresh, restrained, and balanced palate with spicy aromas of licorice and vanilla and a smooth, grainy texture. A very approachable wine that gives an idea of what overlooked Navarra is capable.
