Dense, layered and structured estate cab from Mt. Veeder, overlooking Napa town. Jeff Ames (Rudius, Tor & more), winemaker. Smell and taste crème de cassis, baked blackberries, anise liqueur, saddle leather, and pronounced minerality. Firm tannins soften quickly, bit more acid than the usual makes this an especially good accompaniment with dinner any time over the next 10 or so years.
