Albino Rocca Ronchi Barbaresco 2014

The highest elevation of Albino Rocca’s vineyards (240m) and also their largest – a massive 3ha. At 50-70 years old, these are the oldest vines on the estate. Together with the limestone/chalk soils and a south-east facing exposure, the vineyard produces rich, structured wines: the 2014 has ripe red fruits, violets, tar, licorice, and dried fruits, with a tannic grip on the palate perfectly balanced by the acidity. Drink now-2025.
