Alain Jeanniard Morey-Saint-Denis 2015
It takes a little coaxing to get the fruit out of this one and that is exactly what I look for in high-end Burgundy. This kicks off with thoughts of a dusty gravel parking lot, stones, clay and wet leaves. Soft black cherry, light licorice, wilted roses, sloe berries, and subtle coffee notes. Delicate and restrained with a persistent finish. The soil is in the driver’s seat on this one, just enjoy the ride; you will love where it takes you.
