Adega Cartuxa Red Blend Evora Alentejo 2019

The wines take their name from the Carthusian monks, who since 1598 have lived a life of solitude and prayer in the Monastery of Santa Maria Scala Coeli. The Evora 2019 is a blend of Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Alfrocheiro and Trincadeira, aged in vats and barrels for 12 months. Massive yet soft with dark chocolate, sage, and a Syrah-like meatiness and savory component. The oak does a great job of adding a soft texture to the denseness of the dark plums and dusty blackberries.
