Grape Study: Carignan
Carignan was once the most planted grape in Languedoc, but its lack of quality meant that plantings were radically cut back in the 1990s. So why are we hosting a whole tasting of wines made from Carignan? Because when the vines are old, Carignan is capable of producing truly exceptional wine. We’ve got five wines, all from old vineyards, that prove what old-vine Carignan is capable of.
