A Taste of Spanish Reds

Spain has more land planted to grapes than any other country but because irrigation is not allowed and many of the vineyards are old, it is not the world’s largest producer – that honor usually flips between France and Italy. Spain is the home of some of the world’s most important varieties: Tempranillo, Grenache/Garnacha and Mourvedre aka Monastrell and Mataro, with niche specialties like Mencia gaining importance. We are pleased to present you with a few single varieties and a few blends to help you gain a better appreciation of the incredible diversity and value to be found here.

Here is the Spanish Red Line-Up:

ESPELT Garnacha "Old Vines" Emporda 2015 $13
CASA CASTILLO Jumilla Monastrell 2014 $14
